Based on our 2007 live performance England vs France ~ the battle for choral mastery, this CD tracks the development of the two great nations - their rivalries and the way they influenced and shared musical ideas with each other.

The CD features pivotal mediaeval works by Albert of Paris, Anon, Richard the Lionheart, Machaut, Dunstable, Dufay and Binchois, and later works by Josquin, Taverner, Gombert, Henry VIII, Vaughan Williams and Poulenc. It also includes the premiere recording of Anna Pope's Agincourt - written especially for this program.
